SIIRP: Direct Impact

Purpose

The Direct Impact Committee works to build coalitions and recruit leadership from affected communities and community organizations. The committee strives to determine needs and develop resources and programs to collaboratively respond to immigrant community needs.

Activities and Projects
​
  • Offer Know Your Rights programs to educate individuals and employers about rights under the law.
  • Assist high school students with filing FAFSA or searching for other financial aid (particularly addressing needs of students who may have undocumented family)
  • Fundraise for Legal and Educational Assistance Fund or for other direct needs
    • Check donations may be made payable to Center for Empowerment and Justice (our sponsoring non-profit), with SIIRP Legal/Educational Fund in the memo line. All contributions are tax deductible.   
      Mail checks to: Center for Empowerment and Justice, Attention:  SIIRP, 213 N. Washington, Carbondale, IL 62901.
